Prof Susan Denham is Professor of Computational and Cognitive Neuroscience in the School of Psychology. Her research interests lie in the development of theoretical and computational models of auditory perception and perceptual organisation, which take account of neural processing mechanisms and constraints, and the requirements for robust operation (e.g. context–dependent processing, and the segregation and grouping of sounds) within realistic acoustic environments. She graduated from the University of South Africa in Physics (1980) and Computer Science (1992), and in 1995 received her PhD from Univ. of Plymouth.
